Graduation 2025 - please keep checking back for updated information regarding REC Graduation June, 2025. 

Convocation Fee - $40.00 per grad payable (cash/cheque made out to River East Collegiate)

CONVOCATION INFORMATION

Families and graduates have selected and been scheduled into a time slot where each graduate will have a special convocation with their chosen guests at the school.  These times have been communicated with families and graduates; call the office if you do not have your allotted time.

Caps and gowns will be available for pick up at the school on June 19^th and 20^th in Room 102, from 8:30-3:00. Students will thus have their cap and gowns a week in advance of the convocation ceremony to allow students and families many opportunities for photos in a variety of settings. 

 Important Graduation Dates:

Grad Breakfast 2025: Thursday, June 12^th, morning 

Safe Grad 2025: Tuesday, June 24^th  

Convocation 2025: Thursday, June 26^th 

Session 1 – 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Session 2 – 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Session 3 – 1:00-2:00 p.m.

Session 4 – 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Session 5 – 4:00-5:00 p.m.

 Pertinent details of our Convocation plan:

• Convocation will consist of groups of UP TO 50 Graduates.
• Each graduate can invite UP TO 8 guests. 
• Each group will have a reserved time slot that will include 2 stations:

1. Convocation Ceremony – valedictorian and principal’s addresses and the official granting of the diplomas
   1. Location: REC Gymnasium
   2. Timeframe: 1 hour 
2. Photos and Gown Return
   1. Location: REC First Floor (various locations)
   2. Timeframe: 20-30 minutes

 We ask families to please arrive 15 minutes prior to your graduate’s scheduled time and to anticipate approximately 1-1.5 hours for the Convocation celebration and pictures. Gown return will take place before departure.

 Important Information

• Arriving 15 minutes before your scheduled time is necessary to allow for graduates to be organized and guests to be seated.
• Enter by the Northeast entrance (rear Gymnasium).  Staff will guide guests as they arrive.
• Graduates will gather in the theatre upon their arrival to be lined up for the convocation ceremony.
• People can park in the student parking lot. If the lot is full, there is street parking available. Make note of parking signage.
• If there are accessibility needs for guests, please let staff know as soon as you enter the school.
• Photo opportunities will be available throughout the school.

REC GRAD Dinner, Dance, and Safe Grad Ticket Process

 Contracts for the Dinner, Dance, and Safe Grad are now being processed. The deadline has passed, and any students/families still planning to attend the dinner and dance must get the contract in asap to avoid any delays in ticket purchasing ($25 late fee will be applied). 

Official ticket sales will take place in person at the REC office between Tuesday May 20^th – Friday June 6^th (Cash or cheque). If a student fundraised, their ticket price has been reduced by that amount.  

 To purchase tickets, students must:

1. Complete and submit the Safe Grad Contract
2. Clear any outstanding fees off their school account

 Seat selection for the Dinner and Dance will be first come, first served, beginning June 2^nd – June 18^th. Tables can accommodate 10 people. Students will be getting information in class on how to see the table map and select seats.

To receive a physical dinner and dance ticket and choose a table, students must:

1. Have paid for ticket(s) (in the office)
2. See Mrs. King from June 2^nd – June 18^th (Periods 3&6 – room 220) in person, dietary restrictions will be given at this time. 

 We are looking forward to a memorable event for graduates and families. If you need to make any changes to the number of family tickets that were requested, students can do that when they purchase. Please reach out if you have any questions.
